So, we are sorry for the lack of posts :) We've been busy enjoying the wonderful spring weather...painting some rooms in our house...AND working on the final touches of something brand new and awesome!!! Look for more details this weekend (hopefully) because it should be all ready to go.

So obviously, we haven’t been able to post everyday :) Internet has been harder to come by than we thought, but we finally are able to post about the last few days of our trip! We are on a cruise in the Caribbean with our friends Bernie and Katherine...Friday was all traveling, so no photos of that. Saturday we left out of Ft. Lauderdale and grabbed a couple photos as the ship left out into open water.
Sunday we had a sea day, which we spent in the sun playing shuffleboard and cards!
Today we were in Jamaica...we hiked up Dunn’s River Falls, which was a crazy experience. We are having a great time and can’t wait to take pictures of Bernie and Katherine together in Grand Cayman tomorrow!
We will try to return any emails as soon as possible too!
Yep...so as you guys know, we are leaving today to go on vacation. Well, lets hope that is the case anyway! Gotta love living in New England where it can dump 8 inches of snow in almost April! We'll see you guys soon, have a great week, and hopefully our flight will leave on time :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend! We had fun making some Easter eggs with some friends (it has been YEARS since we last made them) and tormenting Elle with some bunny ears :)

In these slower winter months, we find time to do all sorts of things that get put aside during the summer and fall. By the way, we just booked our 40th wedding for 2008, so we will definitely be very, very busy in the next couple months :) We are looking forward to all the new places we get to visit and experience, not to mention all the wonderful couples we get to know!
Anyways...we just did an overhaul on our website and updated all the wedding galleries and a couple of the portrait galleries as well. It is so much fun to look back over the years and see all our work again, find new favorites, and feature some new weddings. So take a look and let us know what you think!

So the Callahans are heading home to sunny Florida tonight, back to where the weather hovers around 80 degrees :) We hope they had an awesome time enjoying the snow with us and we can't wait to see them again soon! Before heading out we grabbed a quick shot of us all dressed in green in honor of St. Patty's day!
So yesterday we were at a wedding and the Callahan's explored Boston...so no blog post yesterday except for the wedding. But today we were at it again, making another snowman and snowangels, and sledding down our hill! Sadly, the Callahans are heading out tomorrow, but we've had an awesome time with them and we can't wait to see them again...hopefully it will be our turn to visit and spend some time in Florida :)

Today was even more relaxing than yesterday! We did some shopping...some editing...some movie watching...going out to dinner...and no photos to post :) I think we've all seen Ice Age too many times to count now though! It seems to be Eisley's favorite movie!

Today was wonderfully relaxing! We took the Callahan's around downtown Concord, looked around some shops, and of course...took some pictures of Eisley!
Since it has been a bit warmer, the snow softened enough for snowman making! Eisley had a blast and was very intent on getting everything done correctly :)
After that...we had a great time sledding! Eisley on a little hill, and us on the big hill that leads down towards our neighborhood street...sounds real safe, right? Don't worry, we always checked for cars! Mandi, Cory, Matt and Liz were laughing the whole way down each time! At the end, Cory launched himself over the snow bank into the road and it made for a great photo!
Today we took the Callahan's sledding! Eisley had a blast...and the rest of us had a great time feeling like little kids again too :)

This week we have our some of our best friends visiting from Florida! Many of you may know them already, because their daughter Eisley is ALL over our website! She is just over two years old and is incredibly adorable. Cory and Mandi have been telling her all about snow before the trip and she has been SO excited to make snowangels, snowmen, and go sledding...and we've been capturing her snow experiences all day.
Then the adults were able to practice with our new ring flash...an external light...which gave us some really neat portraits :) So enjoy all the photos...definitely more to come since they are here the whole week!!
I don't know how many of you know this...but if you run outside real quick like, you might still be able to catch the lunar eclipse happening right now! This is pretty cool...and makes me wish I had a bigger lens :)

So Liz and I went up to Lincoln, NH to do a little skiing with some friends. While we weren't on the slopes skiing we were inside enjoying some good old fashion Nintendo, and organizing some picture goodness. We had an awesome time, and can't wait to be back up there enjoying the snow.

This past week Liz and I had my parents up from Nebraska visiting us! The weather has been amazing...until today! It just started snowing, they leave tomorrow (maybe) and the weather says that it is going to keep on-a-snowing! Liz and I decided that it was time for us to go out...enjoy the beautiful snow, and take some pictures of each other! We can't wait for this coming weekend as we have 2 weddings!

This past weekend was filled with lots and lots of good times. Matt had some fun with the boys...poker and such...and then obviously had to come back and hang out with Liz and do that whole outdoor thing...snowshoeing...snowboarding...and just enjoying the absolute beauty of the outdoors. We can't wait for this coming weekend with Kate and Neil's wedding!

Even though this time of year is "slower" for us in terms of weddings and other photography shoots...we are surprised at how busy we feel!! There are plenty of meetings, friends and family visiting, skiing and snowboarding...the days just don't seem long enough :) We are sorry for not posting on the blog as frequently, but we have numerous projects coming up in the next couple months to update our site and so on...and it has been keeping us busy!
Anyways, we wanted to show everyone these new save-the-date magnets we just got in the mail...they are so beautifully printed and such a higher quality than any magnet we have seen. Just want to wish everyone a great New Years...hope you were all able to get together with family and/or friends at some point during the holidays. We sure had a good time with our family during Christmas and our friends last night for New Years Eve :) We've been watching the snow fall all afternoon...on top of the foot of snow we got just a couple days ago...it is so pretty and peaceful.
We are already looking forward to our 2008 photography season...2007 was such a blessing as we watched our business take off and we are so incredibly grateful to all our wonderful clients and the new friends we have made!! Wishing you all much joy...

Last night, and into the day today we have had almost 6 inches of snow! We here at HinkleyPhoto are so excited because this means we get to go up north where they got more snow then us and go skiing! Anyway, we thought we would share our good times while blowing snow...shoveling...and of course enjoying the snow with the dog!

Just wanted to announce that the deadline for any print orders you'd like in time for the holidays is DECEMBER 7th! Why so early? We want to make sure it gets to you with plenty of time left before the actual holidays...and we are heading out for our own Christmas celebration with our families as well :)
So please plan accordingly! We will still try to complete any orders that are placed after the 7th, but we can't guarantee it will happen.

We are in Florida a couple more days, staying with our friends Mandi and Cory. Their daughter Eisley just turned two and LOVES dancing and rocking out on her play guitar :) She is having a Dance-Themed birthday party later tonight, but she was "practicing" earlier and we couldn't resist taking some shots of her! We've been sitting inside all day today editing...and just couldn't pass up the chance to get out and go on a walk. We've got some really cool woods behind our house where the dog loves to run around like a maniac and chase all the chipmunks and other forms of wildlife! Obviously we had our camera with us, and as we were sitting down with her just enjoying the day I couldn't help but take a picture of her!

I have some great news to announce! Matt has just completed his first day as a full-time photographer!! :) He was finally able to quit his day job and join me in our home office, which has been our goal for some years now. We are so excited about all the possibilities this offers us...not only do we get to work together consistently now, but we have more time to just enjoy all the aspects of photography, meet our clients whenever we'd like, and serve you all even better! And I like seeing more of him too, of course :)
Now, we are off to shoot the wedding of Stacie and Rob...look for some preview pics tomorrow!

WHOO HOO!! So excited about this...a new wedding planning site is coming soon. WeddingParty should make the lives of brides, grooms, wedding photographers (and other wedding vendors) much, much easier. And we are one of the founding members (very cool)!
Just to hit a couple of the neat features...couples planning for their wedding won't have to search for endless hours through lists and lists of vendors...they will be able to enter some criteria and get a shorter list to choose from. For us, we'll have much more control over what is listed, and really be able to share our personality and love of our job.
And so much more...definitely take a look once it launches...or if you are another photographer, go sign up!
...to let you all know we'll be out of town until April 7th!! Before our crazy wedding season begins, we are heading out a week long cruise to relax and prepare for the weddings we have nearly every weekend from mid-April to October :) To our clients...we'll be answering calls and emails when we get back...unless we are able to snag a wireless connection or some time on the ship's computers during the trip. Yesterday I had the opportunity to shoot on Loon Mountain for the annual Last Call Snowboarding Event. It was quite possibly the best day of the season as far as weather goes. There was definitely a lot of competition throughout the day...ending with some pretty badly bruised bodies, but what is snowboarding without some good old injuries. Here are just a few that I have been playing around with...more to come!

This morning we woke up to about 6 inches of fresh, perfect, powdery snow! We immediately took off for Loon Mtn to experience some powder skiing, quite uncommon in the New England area...tons of fun...glad we went early for first tracks too, cause it got busy very fast! Nice thing about living right next to the mountain is we can go during the week to avoid the craziness, but who can say no to such perfect snow even on the weekend :)
After we got back we took our dog Elle out for a run in the snow...she had a blast playing in it! Enjoy...wish you were here to experience the awesome snow with us!

Meet Lauren Bradshaw!!

HinkleyPhoto: Was it hard picking out a location for your wedding day?
Lauren: We didn't have much choice in the location because it was the church we both grew up in. The hard part was being ok with the fact that the church was ugly!
HP: So who did all the planning for the wedding?…What about decorating?
Lauren: I had a lot of magazine issues of Martha Stewart weddings. I did all the decorations and stayed up late making everything and then my mom and bridesmaids helped put it together in a hurry on the day before the wedding.
HP: How did you choose who to invite and who not to invite?
Lauren: Well we knew that would be the hardest part since we had so many friends and friends of the family so we actually chose the location and price of food so that we'd be able to invite as many people as we'd like we ended up not having to eliminate anyone off the list, except when we ran out of invitations... then, it was all word-of-mouth.
HP: So you pretty much invited everyone!
Lauren: Exactly! Everyone! And tons of people came that we didn't even send an invite to!
HP: What about your dress? Where did you find the dress?
Lauren: Well I actually only went shopping once, tried on about five dresses, and then went home and thought about it, and purchased it! I read so many magazines that I knew pretty much what I wanted.
HP: What did you do with your dress after the wedding?
Lauren: I listed it on Ebay ☺
HP: What a fun idea!
Lauren: I figured if I was going to spend a lot on it, I might as well get some money back so I could have the dress I really wanted but shouldn't get.
HP: How about the wedding day…what was going through your mind when you woke up on your wedding day?
Lauren: On the day of the wedding I was really excited to see Joey for the first timethen I was most excited to actually be married and go to California! Most of the other details faded away and that become most important.
HP: Were you nervous?
Lauren: I was not nervous at all! I was just really excited.
HP: During the wedding, was there anything that went wrong?
Lauren: Actually nothing went wrong, but the reception was more disorganized than I would've hoped. Our wedding coordinator seemed to disappear and we had to organize the events more than we wanted to. But luckily everything went as planned and the guests had a good time!
HP: What would you say went the best during the wedding?
Lauren: Hmmm…the best part was the actual ceremony. And getting to realize the importance of the day, and that this is what we had been looking forward to for five years.
HP: Where did you get those sweet red shoes?
Lauren: Hahahha…Nine West!!!
HP: Is there a story behind the red...normally you see brides with white shoes...what gives? ☺
Lauren: I wanted to be a little different and I have always loved red, maybe it's because I was born on Valentine's day.
HP: You’ve got 6 months of marriage under your belt, how is it going?
Lauren: It is going great. We had a little adjusting period which surprised me because we had been dating so long. But now, it's like a sleepover party every day!
A couple weeks ago now, we picked up a new camera lens. The canon 85mm 1.2L...and OH MY GOSH it is such an amazing lens!! We can't stop playing around with the settings in different lighting situations and this lens has yet to fail us :) We can't wait for more wedding and portrait opportunties to come up because at our past couple shoots, we couldn't get enough of it. Here are a couple pictures we just took to show you what this lens is capable of...our dog Elle is the model!

While we were in Florida, we were able to take part in the celebration of Eisley's 1st birthday, the daughter of some of our best friends. She was adorable and such a great girl...there were tons of guests, presents, cake, a cotton candy machine...even a jump house! We had a blast and took some great pictures of the cute Birthday Girl :)

Today in the mail we received quite a little shock. Nearly a year and a half ago, we submitted one of our pictures to Jones Soda, and they had just accepted it! We are now on the label of a Jones Soda bottle!!
Everyone keep your eyes peeled and if you find a bottle of Jones Soda with this image...please let us know! We would love to get our hands on one :) When you get selected, they give you some of the labels, but they don't give you your bottle! We are on the hunt and would really appreciate everyone else keeping a lookout for one at your local Starbucks or other retailers that sell Jones Soda!

If you remember the post a little while back about Rook opening for Kevin Max, this one is right along the same path! While we were shooting the Rook show, we stuck around for Kevin Max who was always a favorite of ours when he was the lead singer of DcTalk. The pictures that we took of him got passed along to him and he is now using them on his myspace account! Very exciting times for HinkleyPhoto since this is the first artist with a record label to use our work!

I was able to travel with the band Rook on Friday night to Jacksonville, Florida and tag along as their photographer! I have been to many concerts and had fun taking photos along the way, but I have never had the opportunity to tag along as "part" of the band. It was a very cool experience that I hope to have more opportunities in the future to be able to do this again! Here are a few photos from that night!
